Meet Bre, MS, RDN

A Passion for Helping You Thrive

Growing up in Minnesota, I developed a deep appreciation for the connection between food, community, and well-being. This inspired me to pursue a career in nutrition, earning both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics from the University of Missouri. My journey has taken me from the heartland to LA, where I combine evidence-based science with a compassionate, client-first approach to nutrition.

Whether you’re navigating a complex health condition, looking to feel more confident in your body, or striving for a healthier relationship with food, I’m here to guide and empower you every step of the way.

Expertise You Can Trust

As a Clinical Dietitian, as well as a Telehealth Dietitian, I’ve honed my skills in providing personalized care for individuals of all ages. My experience spans pediatric and adolescent nutrition, a multitude of specialties, and creating flexible, sustainable nutrition strategies that work in the real world.

FAQ

  • A dietitian provides expert, science-based guidance to help you achieve sustainable weight loss while navigating the challenges of the Los Angeles lifestyle. Here’s how they can help:

    1. Customized Plans: A dietitian assesses your health history, lifestyle, and goals to create a personalized weight loss plan that works for you.

    2. Behavioral Strategies: They teach you how to build healthy habits, manage cravings, and make mindful eating choices.

    3. Addressing Underlying Issues: A dietitian identifies and addresses medical or lifestyle factors, like hormonal imbalances or stress, that may affect weight loss.

    4. Meal Planning: They help you design meals that are nutrient-rich, satisfying, and easy to prepare, using fresh, local ingredients readily available in Los Angeles.

    5. Accountability and Support: Through regular sessions, a dietitian helps you stay on track and make adjustments as needed.

    6. Education: They provide practical knowledge about nutrition, helping you understand portion sizes, label reading, and how to balance macronutrients effectively.

  • Both nutritionists and dietitians can assist with weight loss, but the best choice depends on your specific needs and goals:

    • Registered Dietitians (RDs):

      • Have formal education, clinical training, and licensure.

      • Are equipped to handle medical conditions that may impact weight loss, such as diabetes, thyroid issues, or digestive disorders.

      • Provide evidence-based, medically sound advice.

    • Nutritionists:

      • Often focus on general healthy eating and lifestyle changes.

      • May not have formal licensure but can still offer valuable guidance, especially for less complex weight loss goals.

    Which is Better?

    • If you have medical concerns or need a highly structured plan, a dietitian is likely the better choice.

    • For general guidance or support with healthy eating habits, a nutritionist can be effective.

Ultimately, finding a qualified professional who understands your unique goals and offers a personalized approach is key to successful weight loss.
